The SC Storm Chasers 12u closed out their season with a trip to a very good Quincy Wood Bat Tournament over the weekend. In the elimination bracket, SC fell to the Nemo Sluggers out of Bloomington/Normal 5-4. SC trailed 4-0 before coming back to tie the game in the bottom of the fifth inning. Driving in runs for SC was Trent Ingram, Hayden Prather and Ryker Dodson. Also with hits, Luke Shumate, Garret Shumate also had a hit and scored twice.
In pool play on Saturday, SC fell to the Red Bombers of Champaign 4-3. SC led 3-0 after the first inning but a 4 run fifth for the Bombers sealed the wi. SC got RBI from Avery Gullion, Prather and Luke Shumate. Colton Cartright singled and scored with Payton Gullion adding a hit as well as Garret Shumate.
SC opened the tournament with a 1-1 tie to Peoria. SC trailed 1-0 in the final inning with 2 outs, Avery Gullion doubled to right field and scored on a Colt Cartright single. Prather and Sebastian Kruger also had hits.
