Heavy showers pushed across South Central Illinois early Sunday morning.
The Salem Water Plant recorded 85-hundredths of an inch of rain and the Centralia Water Treatment Plant 1.01 inches of rain. Centralia Water Plant officials say it appears the ground is dry enough most of the moisture soaked in and no gates had been opened at Raccoon Lake.
The Salem Water Plant reported the temperature reached 91 degrees on Saturday. The temperature Sunday is expected to top out at 88-degrees.
The National Weather Service says there is a chance of showers and thunderstorms redeveloping Sunday afternoon and could result in damaging winds and localized flooding.
