Those looking for jobs of all types are invited to meet with area employers Wednesday morning at the Kaskaskia College Salem Education Center on West Whitaker.
Salem Economic Development Director Tabitha Meador says the center will be full of opportunities.
“We have 25 employers who have registered to attend the job fair that hosts about 400 job opportunities within the Salem and surrounding area. These employers are very anxious to get people to work so anyone who is interested in finding a job or finding a better job is more than welcome to come out to the job fair. We have a variety of skill levels available and experience levels,” said Meador.
Among those in attendance will be some of Salem’s largest employers North American Lighting, Jarco, and Americana. Motels, retail, health care facilities, and staffing agencies will also be in attendance.
If you want to discuss careers in radio, WJBD-WSIQ will be broadcasting live and available to answer questions.
The social service agency BCMW will be available to help those in attendance with job readiness skills including assistance on resumes. Kaskaskia College will have information on training programs.
The job fair runs from nine to noon on Wednesday morning at the Kaskaskia College Salem Education Center on West Whitaker Street.
