Bond has been set at $25,000 for a 34-year-old Centralia man who has been charged with aggravated battery to a police officer and felony resisting arrest.
Shane Littleton of South Hickory faces the charges as a result of a Thursday incident where he first attempted to flee Salem Police on foot and later allegedly struck an officer in the chest with his knee when fighting being handcuffed after being tased. The resisting charge is a felony due to an officer receiving a facial injury during the foot chase.
If found guilty, Littleton faces an extended sentence due to a prior felony conviction.
The public defender has been appointed to represent him.
