A 59-year-old Centralia man driving the wrong way on Noleman Street in Centralia struck a Centralia City Grade School bus and another vehicle on Monday afternoon.

Centralia Police say Gregory Dunbar of Green Street Road had just used an inhaler that knocked him out.   He was ticketed for aggravated driving under the influence of drugs and driving the wrong way on a one way street.

The first crash occurred at Hickory and Noleman when he struck the school bus occupied by driver 34-year-old Erica Vaughn of North Harrison in Central City and 15 students she was in the process of taking him.  Two of the students, a nine-year-old male and an eight-year-old female, were taken to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia by their parents to be checked.

Dunbar continued to the Cherry and Noleman Street intersection where he struck a car driven by 40-year-old Darryl McGrew of South Broadway in Central City.    McGrew was not hurt.

When police arrived on the scene, Dunbar was still sitting in his vehicle in the middle of the road near the Noleman and Beech intersection where it had come to stop after the two collisions.   Dunbar was taken to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment.
