The Salem Fire Protection District was called Monday afternoon to a brush fire that got out of control at the Joanie Tate property at 4703 Carter Road in rural Kell. Firemen were able to keep it from burning a nearby shed, which was just scorched on the outside.
Kell Firemen brought a tanker to the scene. Odin stood by at the Salem Fire Station in the event of another fire.
The fire call came in at 3:30 Monday afternoon.
