Carlyle Lake will host several public events this fall in partnership with local organizations. The following events are scheduled at various locations around the lake:
Sarcoma Stomp: Run for Research
October 10 | Main Dam, Dam West Recreation Area
The Bo Arvin Memorial Foundation will host the Sarcoma Stomp: Run for Research to raise awareness and funds for sarcoma research. Registration is available at https://runsignup.com/Race/IL/Carlyle/SarcomaStompRunforResearch
Carlyle Lake Haunted Trail
October 16–17 | Dam West Boat Ramp | 6:30–10 p.m.
Participants will take a hayride from the boat ramp down to the Little Prairie Nature Trail, a 1/2-mile trail featuring spooky displays and plenty of Halloween thrills. Admission is $15. Proceeds will support the 2027 Fireworks Spectacular.
Camper’s & Family Trick-or-Treat
October 24 | Dam West Campground | 6:30–8 p.m.
Dam West Campground will host a Halloween-themed evening featuring trick-or-treating and a campsite decorating contest. The event is open to friends and family of registered campers. Proper identification is required.
