It was a heartbreaking day for the Salem Lady Cat golfers as they were in 3rd place most of the day at Belk Park in Roxana, but in the end, Alton Marquette caught Salem with both teams finishing with 341, Marquette then won on the 5th score playoff 98-100 to advance along with Sectional champion Mater Dei 316 and Okawville 334. Salem did not have an individual who qualified for state as junior Reagan Shuler was 2 shots off the pace. This was the hardest sectional in the state with 11 of the state’s top 20 teams competing at Belk Park.
Newton freshman Haley Ochs was the individual champ shooting 74, Maya Kampwerth of Breese Central and Whitney Lovel of Trico both shot 75, Finley Meyer of Mater Dei, teammate Abilene Winkeler and Centralia freshman Chloe Hodge tied for 4th shooting 77.
