The Marion County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a car found in a field off the 8500 block of Seavers Road in rural Kinmundy late Saturday night. Deputies went to the area after receiving a report from an area resident about what sounded like a fight or argument. No one was near the vehicle, which had light smoke coming from it. The Kinmundy-Alma Fire Department was called and determined there was no actual fire. The vehicle was then towed from the scene. The incident was first reported at 10:24 Saturday night.
Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies report that the riders of two e-bikes successfully eluded them after a deputy attempted to stop them near the McCord Street and Edgewood Road intersection on the east side of Centralia early Sunday morning.
Salem firefighters responded to a possible anhydrous leak at the Equity facility in Tonti Saturday night after a cloud was seen above one of the tanks. Equity sent an employee who determined that a valve on the tank was not properly closed and corrected the problem without incident. The call came in at ten Saturday night.
