The Tri-County Electric Cooperative has a new General Manager, but he’s a familiar face. Director of Engineering and 19 year employee Danny Hopfinger has been selected as the next General Manager replacing Luke Johnson who earlier left for a position at another co-op.
Tri-County Board President Sam Phillips says the board is confident that Danny will continue to serve the cooperative and its members as successfully as he has in his tenure here at Tri-County.
Hopfinger says he is honored and humbled to be selected as the next GM for Tri-County, and looks forward to working with employees and the Board to continue to provide safe, reliable, and affordable high-quality service to Tri-County members. He notes the electric industry is at an interesting point with many challenges and opportunities to plan for and work through.

Hopfinger will begin General Manager duties on Monday, August 10th, 2026.
