The Greater Salem Chamber of Commerce has announced the hiring of Siretha Howe as its new part-time executive director.  She is no stranger to the chamber, being past chamber president, four-year board member and ambassador.  Howe says as a Salem native, she has a deep love for the community and is passionate about supporting our local businesses and helping the chamber to grow and thrive.

“Bringing more programs to the business leaders in Salem and surrounding areas,” Howe said. “To be able to get them some training and things like that. We want to get them some support if we have grants that we can potentially apply for and get for the community. Owning a business is very hard in a small town, and I am committed to growing that for our local businesses.”

Howe plans to have the chamber office open from ten to noon every Tuesday and spend time visiting businesses at other times during the week.

Chamber President Anthony Smith says they are thrilled to welcome Siretha into this role and are confident her experience and vision will help strengthen the chamber and continue creating opportunities for our members and the entire community.
