A 79-year-old Centralia man was injured when his vehicle was struck by a semi on I-57 at mile marker 111, five miles south of Salem.
Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies say John Sprehe of Anderson Street was taken to an area hospital by United Medical Response for treatment of a cut to the head. The truck driver left the scene without stopping and is still being sought.
The crash occurred at 3:49 on Saturday morning. Salem Firemen were also called to assist, but the call was canceled before their arrival.
