The Marion County Republican Central Committee has caucused Matt Huelskoetter onto the ballot to run for the two-year unexpired seat in District One in the November general election.
Huelskoetter says he has been attending county board meetings for the last few years and likes the direction the board is going and wants to be part of helping the people of Marion County. He describes himself as a Christian Conservative.
The Marion County Democratic Central Committee is also looking to caucus in a candidate for the unexpired term given up by Brock Waggoner when he moved out of District One.
Huelskoetter has also applied to fill the open board seat until the November election. Board Chair Steve Whritenour says applications for the appointed position will remain open until July 11th.
