Centralia Police have released details on a Sunday morning crash in downtown Centralia that took one person to the hospital.
Police reports indicate 68-year-old Gene Fisher of Covington Road in Okawville ran a red light while westbound on McCord. His SUV was struck in the side by a 17-year-old male juvenile from Sandoval that was traveling southbound on Poplar.
Fisher was transported to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia for treatment of injuries by Lifestar Ambulance. Both the juvenile driver and a passenger in the Fisher SUV, 57-year-old Beth Fisher of Okawville, declined hospital treatment.
Fisher was ticketed for disobeying a traffic control device.
The Centralia Fire Department was also called to the scene to assist.
The crash occurred at 10:28 Sunday morning.
