Franklin Park Middle School recognized 86 graduating eighth graders at the graduation ceremony on Friday. Principal Tyler Lux said that this year’s graduating class has lived up to the theme for the school year, “Uncommon.”
Tape Lux “This graduating class has displayed uncommon work ethic and skill, which is evident in many of their achievements and accomplishments,” Chapman said. “While each of them should take time to celebrate their accomplishments up to this point, I also challenge them to look to their futures, at Salem High School or elsewhere, and begin making plans for what they would like to accomplish even after high school.”

24 Students were recognized with the Presidential Award for Academic Excellence for earning a GPA of 3.8 or greater during their 8 th grade year. The Outstanding Scholar Award, signifying a perfect 4.0 GPA, was presented to Cooper Burkette, Lexie Malan, Kenleigh Collier, Kayne Rhynes, Kinsley Gansauer, and Ben Lux.

The Illinois Principal Association Award was given to Grant Squibb. The Beta Club Student of the Year Awards went to Libbie Bundy and Michael Davis. Libbie Bundy also received the Don Armstrong Student Council Award. The Jim Burnes Leadership Award was given to Ben Lux.

Kinsley Gansauer received the Illinois Science Teachers Association Outstanding Science Student Award. Ben Lux received the David Conklin Award. Kenleigh Collier and Cooper Burkett were presented with the American Legion Award. The Mr. and Mrs. Bobcat Awards were given to Lexie Malan and Ben Lux.
