Saturday has been Declared Poppy Day in Salem

Salem Mayor Nic Farley has declared Saturday as Poppy Day in Salem.

Members of the Salem American Legion Auxiliary will be at Dollar General, Farm Fresh Market and Rural King from nine to noon on Saturday collecting donations to receive a poppy.

Proceeds from Poppy Day help the legion auxiliary help local veterans.
