The Centralia City Schools Board of Education approved several routine business items at its regular May meeting on Tuesday. The board authorized superintendent Christina Becker to create a tentative budget for the next fiscal year. The budget hearing is scheduled for September 8. Becker said the district is currently on track for this year’s budget.

The board approved hiring FGM Architects as the district’s architectural firm. The firm will be used for upcoming Health Life and Safety projects.

Bids were accepted for cafeteria supplies for the next school year. The bids were from Kohls for food, Prairie Farms for milk, and S and L for bread. The Satchel Pulse program was renewed for use at a cost not to exceed $11,915.

The board accepted resignations from Robin Haake as Schiller paraprofessional and Brandon Veller as fourth grade teacher, effective at the end of the 2025-26 school year.

Employment was approved for Emily Alcorn as fourth grade teacher, Kathryn Webster as fourth grade teacher, and Mollie Dale as Schiller School secretary for the 2026-27 school year.

Eighth Grade Graduation is May 19 at 6:00 p.m. The last day of school this year is May 21 for students and May 22 for staff.
