Police Beat for Saturday, May 8th, 2021

The Salem Police department arrested a 29-year-old Elko, Georgia man for alleged domestic battery.   Police say Christopher Douglas was taken into custody after they received a call from his girlfriend while the two were in a vehicle near Salem Township Hospital.

Salem Police arrested two others on outstanding warrants.  29-year-old Connor Williams of Green Road in Iuka was arrested at the Super 8 Motel on an outstanding Douglas County felony warrant.   35-year-old William Wolf of Carmi was arrested after Salem Police stopped a vehicle early Saturday morning on South Pruyn Street that had been the subject of an earlier suspicious vehicle and person complaint.

A 39-year-old Centralia woman was only out of jail for a few hours before she was arrested again by Centralia Police on Friday.  Candie Napoli of Poplar Street is being held for resisting arrest and violation of bail bond.

43-year-old Sherry Best of East 4th in Centralia was arrested at the probation office for a probation violation and taken to the Marion County Jail.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Deputy is investigating a burglary to a shed on Buchanan Road in rural Iuka.   Five or more guns are reported missing.  The missing guns were reported to the sheriff’s department on Friday.
