Kaskaskia College will host a public lecture and student workshop featuring Tron Young, educator, motivational speaker, and school leader, on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, as part of the College’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day observance.

The event will begin with a public lecture from 11:00 a.m. to noon in the KC Jane Knight Auditorium, followed by a lunch and interactive workshop for KC students from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. in the LLC Building. The student workshop is RSVP only.

Dr. Young brings nearly two decades of experience in education, having served as a classroom teacher, building principal, and district leader. Known for his engaging and high-energy presentations, he focuses on leadership, culture, and personal growth, encouraging students and educators to lead with purpose and intention.

“This event is a unique opportunity for our students to learn from an accomplished educator while also inviting the community into an important conversation,” said Steven Foutch, Dean of Student Success. “Dr. Young’s public lecture and student workshop reinforce our mission to support learning beyond the classroom.”

The public lecture is free and open to the community, and area students, educators, and residents are encouraged to attend. The afternoon workshop provides students with a more in-depth, hands-on experience focused on leadership development and personal growth.
