Centralia City Firemen say flames were shooting 10 to 15 feet in the air when they arrived on the scene of a fire burning demolition debris late Sunday night.
Firemen say the city was in the process of tearing down the home in the 200 block of South Cherry when it caught fire for an unknown reason. No other buildings were threatened. A city backhoe was called in to break up the debris and prevent any additional spot fires.
The fire call came in at 10:39 Sunday night. Firemen were on the scene until 12:30 Monday morning. Two firemen were called in to man the main fire station in the event of another fire.
