A 27-year-old Decatur man has been sentenced to three years in prison in connection with a January 2020 fight at the Marion County Jail.
Spencer Loyd admitted to striking another inmate in the head and body. As part of the plea, a charge of possession of 15 to 100 grams of methamphetamine that originally brought Loyd to jail was dropped.
The sentence will run concurrently with one handed down in Jefferson County for possession of a stolen vehicle. That sentence was done in abstentia when Loyd failed to appear in court.
