Fire caused minor damage to a modular home occupied by Dietrich Starks and Cedric Garrett at 902 McKee Street in Centralia late Tuesday afternoon.
Centralia City Firemen say all available firemen were called to the scene. The occupants first noticed smoke around the plug for the dryer, but the fire ended up being underneath the floor.
Firemen report most of the damage occurred when the flooring had to be torn up to reach the fire. The cause of the smoldering fire was not determined, but is believed to be electrical in nature.
Firemen used their large smoke ejecting fan, but say there was no lasting smoke damage. The estimated $1,000 damage was all to the flooring.
The home is owned by Ellen Starks. Firemen responded to the call at 4:14 Tuesday afternoon and were on the scene for an hour and 15 minutes.
