The non-profit SAFE organization has settled into its new location in Salem in the small strip shopping center at 208 West Schwartz.
Executive Director Melissa Kelly says this is one of five offices SAFE has in the region.
“SAFE is a rape crisis center, and we offer free and confidential services to survivors of sexual assaults and abuse and impacted individuals,” Kelly said. “We offer advocacy, counseling, and prevention programs to schools in the community. We also have a 24-hour hotline for crisis interventions. That number is 1-800-625-1414, and anyone can call for support.”
Kelly says the office features a full-time counselor, two advocates, and a prevention specialist available.
“We have the waiting area, we have the advocacy office, we have the children’s room. We have the counseling room, and then our middle meeting area”
SAFE is open from 8:30 to 4 pm Monday through Friday, with the 24-hour crisis line always available.
SAFE first moved to the location in May but did not hold an official ribbon cutting until they got totally settled in this month.
