An 18 by 20 foot garage and a 2000 passenger car were destroyed in an early Monday morning fire in Wamac.
Centralia Fire Protection District Chief Ross Boshera says the fire was on the Mark Buller property at 605 James. He reports both the garage and car were fully engulfed upon the fire departments arrival and were a total loss.
The fire also burned a fence and the neighbor’s tree.
The firefighting effort was hampered by the strong winds.
Boshera says a homeless man had been living in the garage, but was not home at the time of the fire.
The cause of the fire has not been determined. The fire call came in at 3:52 Monday morning.
