A significant change in the weather is underway across South Central Illinois. Temperatures are now dropping and will be down to 60 degrees by five pm and 20 degrees by morning.
There is a chance of rain and thunderstorms, mainly after three pm until eight this evening. There is also a chance of severe weather including damaging winds and possibly small tornadoes. It will also be breezy, with a southwest wind 18 to 23 mph, with gusts as high as 36 mph. The chance of precipitation is 70%.
Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 20 by Monday morning. Breezy, with a west wind 24 to 26 mph, with gusts as high as 41 mph.
A wind advisory is in effect from three Sunday afternoon until six Monday morning. West winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph are expected. Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down, and a few power outages may result. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
