An increase in donations helped increase the number of children who were helped through this year’s Centralia Youth Center and WJBD Radio Adopt a Family program.
Josh Favors of the Community Youth Center, who leads the program, says about 450 kids and their families received assistance and gifts this Christmas Season. He says it’s made possible by over $20,000 in cash donations and numerous individuals, churches, school groups, and businesses that adopt out a child or a whole family to purchase Christmas Gifts and items of family need.
Other volunteers help in the wrapping of gifts.
Several similar programs helped other children and families throughout the area have a brighter Christmas this year.
