The Marion County Sheriff’s Department reports a pig on US 50 near Metcalf Road in rural Iuka resulted in two traffic crashes early Christmas Eve night.
The pig was first hit and killed by a car driven by a 17-year-old female juvenile from Iuka. The driver and a passenger both declined hospital treatment after being checked by United Medical Response.
A short time later, the pig, which was still lying in the road, was hit by 68-year-old Ernest Mulvaney Junior of Koehnke Road in rural Iuka. Mulvaney was not injured.
