Don’t spend the holiday alone! The Salem Presbyterian Church will continue its tradition of providing its annual Christmas Fellowship Dinner at noon on Christmas Day.

One of the organizers, Amy Telford, says they want to make sure no one has to spend Christmas Day alone.

“We have anywhere between 80 and 100, so we ask that you RSVP by calling the church to let us know that you are coming.  We can help you with transportation, but we ask that you not do carryouts, because that defeats the fellowship purpose of the meal.   We want everyone to come and be together for Christmas.”

Telford says the meal consists of baked ham, roasted turkey, and dressing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans, many other side dishes, and delicious desserts.

Call the church office to R.S.V.P. at 618-548-2754 and leave your name, phone number, and let them know if you require a ride.

Salem Presbyterian Church is located at 201 East McMackin St., and the dining room will open for the meal at 11 a.m.  Food will be served at noon after enjoying hot cider and singing Christmas carols.

Telford says a large number of volunteers are involved.

“We have between 20 and 30 volunteers coming in at different shifts to help with the preparation and the cleanup, the cooking, and all of that.”

If you would like to help prepare, serve, or help with transportation, you can contact a Salem Presbyterian Church member or call the church office at 618-548-2754.
