One person took themselves to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment of injuries following a two-car rear end crash on South Elm at Second Street in downtown Centralia on Wednesday morning.
Centralia Police say a car driven by 31-year-old Shalonda Mays of DeWolfe Street in Odin ran into the rear of a pickup driven by 65-year-old Billie Jones of Wood Street in Odin. Mays says she was distracted by a nearby traffic stop.
Mays declined hospital treatment, while Jones later took himself to the hospital.
Mays was ticketed for driving too fast for conditions and no insurance.
The crash occurred at 9:17 Wednesday morning.
