A detached garage at the Clayton Vaughn home at 361 Gilliland Road in rural Walnut Hill was destroyed by fire Sunday afternoon.
Centralia Fire Protection District Chief Ross Boshera says the 30 by 30 foot garage was involved in heavy fire from the north wall and roof upon their arrival. The garage and contents were a total loss. The fire was hot enough it also melted siding on the home. The cause of the fire has not been determined.
The Centralia City Fire Department and Kell Firemen provided mutual aid on the scene. Sandoval stood by at the Centralia Fire Protection District in the event of another fire.
The fire call came in at 4:26 Sunday afternoon. Firemen were on the scene for three hours.
