A 39-year-old Central City woman has been charged in Marion County Court on Tuesday with six counts of aggravated battery.

Leann Harding of Richmond Heights Mobile Home Park is accused of striking three EMTs, two police officers, and a fireman on Monday night.

Centralia Police Lieutenant Steve Whritenour says emergency help was initially called to the 400 block of North Cherry, where a female was found lying unconscious in the ditch.   As Harding was being treated, she allegedly became angry and kicked the paramedics and EMTs from Lifestar and the Centralia Fire Department.  She then allegedly fought with police officers on the scene and later at the holding cell at the Centralia Police Department.

Probable cause was found to proceed with the charges against Harding at her first court appearance, but a request to hold her without bond by the State’s Attorney’s office was rejected, and she was released on pretrial conditions.    Harting indicated she would hire her own attorney.  Her first appearance with counsel was set for January 14th.
