The Bryan Family Christmas Open House will be held this Sunday from five to eight pm.  You’ll be able to celebrate the Christmas Season with Mrs. William Jennings Bryan and her children at the birthplace museum at 408 South Broadway.   Myron Lloyd and Jim Koehler of the Historical Society have organized the second annual event.   Koehler explains what all is planned.

“We are planning on having a number of cars out front from the period, weather permitting,” Koehler said. “Cindy Quinn next door to us is going to have her place open for coffee and refreshments. We’re going to have Emma Turner and Avery Jones from the high school playing the daughters of William Jennings Bryan, and Brad Crow will be the son. You’ll be able to go through the rooms, and they’ll tell you about their lives and what it was like to be a child of William Jennings Bryan.”

The home will be decorated in period-authentic natural Christmas Greenery and handmade ornaments.  Guests will have an opportunity to enjoy the seasonal ambiance of candlelight throughout the home.

While there is no cost to attend, you do need to make a reservation for a specific time to keep the crowd steady.   You can contact Myron Lloyd at 618-267-1238 or Jim Koehler at 618-267-3829 to make a reservation.
