The Salem City Council Monday night will consider entering into a new electric aggregation with Good Energy after receiving more information on the extension and what it could mean in savings to Salem residents.
The council will review a proposed renewal of the city’s insurance coverage through Illinois Counties Risk Management Trust as well as worker’s compensation.
The council will consider a new agreement with Jack Rile to empty the recycling trailer two times a week for $160 per time.
The third and final reading of the property tax levy for next year will come before the council. It has an overall increase in the extension of $50,415 over last year or a 3.51 percent increase. The council will also consider abatement of the general obligation bond series 2021 that is being paid off through sale tax revenue.
The council will amend portions of the nuisances and building code-permit fees ordinances.
Mayor Nic Farley is recommending Brad Crow to an open position on the historical commission.
The council has a closed schedule to discuss personnel and potential sale of property. There is possible action after the closed session.
The Salem City Council meeting begins at six Monday night at Salem City Hall.
