A 32-year-old Chicago woman was hurt when her SUV ran off northbound at I-57 at mile marker 123 seven miles north of Salem early Sunday morning.State Police say preliminary information indicates that after striking the deer in the roadway, the SUV ran off the road.
Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies who were first on the scene indicated the vehicle went into the trees on the side of the road.
The driver, whose name has not been released, complained of leg, foot and possible stomach injuries. She was transported to an area hospital by United Medical Response.
The crash occurred at 2:58 Sunday morning. It remains under investigation.
