Centralia and Central City Police arrested a total of three people following two separate incidents at a home on South Park Street in Central City.
The series of incidents began during the day on Saturday when police spotted 29-year-old Biana Meeks of the South Park Street address was seen driving in the area. She was stopped because police knew she was wanted on an outstanding Clinton County traffic warrant.
Police learned 35-year-old Jerry Courtney was inside the home and was wanted on an outstanding warrant and was a person of interest in pending charges. He initially refused to come out after police talked to him on the phone and his mother at the door. Courtney allegedly ran towards the back door but stopped when seeing the police outside. He then came out the front door and gave himself up without further incident.
Courtney was arrested on a Marion County felony warrant on pending possession of controlled substance and cannabis charges and as a person of interest in Centralia Police cases for possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a stolen firearm, and being a habitual criminal.
Central City Police were called back to the home Saturday night to a report of a dispute. Police discovered 60-year-old Peter Johnson of the South Park Street address and took him into custody on an outstanding Jefferson County felony warrant. He was later transferred to the Jefferson County Jail at Mt. Vernon.
