The Centralia City Council Monday night will be asked to appoint current Finance Director Jeremy Henderson as the new city treasurer.   Henderson will replace Bill Agee who is retiring after 38 years in the position.  Agee will also get a service award at the meeting recognizing his retirement.

The council will also be asked to seek bids on improvements to Orchard Drive East.  The road improvements are planned along Orchard Drive East from South Perrine to the end of the cul-de-sac.  They include concrete pavement, curb and gutter and storm sewer and patching.  The estimated cost is $300,000.

The council will be asked to pass a resolution authorizing the execution and approval of a power purchase agreement with Keystone Power Holdings, LLC which will construct a community solar energy system at the city’s wastewater treatment plant on West 17th street. The structure of the agreement estimates a $2.9 million savings over 30 years on electricity costs at the plant compared to current utility rates.  No city funds will be expended for construction of the project.

The council will be asked to accept a bid for the sale of a vacant lot at 435 South Hickory that met the minimum bid.  The council will be asked to reject a bid for a lot at 1335 South Hickory that was below the minimum bid.

The Centralia City Council meeting begins at six Monday night at City Hall.
