The Salem Community High School Marching Band fell just 1.75 points short of finishing with a perfect season.   The Marching Season ended with the Greater St. Louis Marching Band Festival help at Belleville West High School.

Band Director John Randolph says while they won all the auxiliary awards, including Best Percussion, Best Color Guard, Best Overall Effect, and Best Visual, they finished second in their division.  The score sheets indicate they fell 1.75 points behind Williamsville who won the category.

Salem had swept their first two competitions and would have completed their first undefeated season if they would have won the overall trophy for their division.

Randolph is proud of the effort given by the 45 members of the band.

Attention now turns to getting ready for the Christmas Concert and Pep Band at home basketball games.
