Rodney “Rod” Barrow, cherished father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at 59, at his home.

He was born on Friday, July 1, 1966, in Centralia, Illinois, the son of Ronald R. Barrow and Delores (Niepoetter) Barrow. He married Tonya Kinder, and they later divorced.

Rod leaves behind a legacy of love and family. He is survived by his devoted mother, Delores Barrow, of Centralia, whose unwavering support was a constant in his life. Rod’s daughter, Marissa Barrow, and her fiancé, Ryan Schmitt, also of Centralia, carry forward his legacy. He was a proud grandfather to Harper Schultze, who brought immense joy to his life. He is also survived by his brother, Randy Barrow, and sister-in-law, Lisa Barrow, who remained close throughout Rodney’s life. His cherished nephews and nieces, Eli, Sophia, and Cecilia Barrow, will fondly remember their uncle’s warmth and wit.

Rod was predeceased by his father, Ronald Barrow, and his beloved son, Justen Barrow. The loss of Justen weighed heavily on Rodney’s heart, and we take comfort in knowing they are now reunited.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, October 27, 2025, from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia. A private burial will be held at a later date at Hillcrest Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family.
