Lorene T.  “Dolly” Jansen, age 90 of Carlyle, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Hickory Estates in Greenville on Wednesday, October 15, 2025.

Dolly was born in Breese, Illinois, on June 26, 1935, a daughter of Joseph and Mary (nee Roberg) Langhauser.  She married the love of her life, Jerome B Jansen, on May 24, 1955.  Dolly and Jerome were married for 67 years before his passing on September 17, 2022.

Dolly, along with her husband Jerome, owned and operated Jansen Farm Equipment, Inc. for over 60 years.   She had a talent for quilting and crocheting, creating many beautiful pieces that will be cherished for years to come. Dolly also loved the simple pleasures in life—fishing on a quiet day, watching the birds, shopping for a good find, and enjoying a trip to the casino now and then. As a devoted St. Louis Cardinals fan, she rarely missed a game.  She was also a faithful member of St. Teresa Church, where her kindness and warm spirit touched many.  Dolly’s greatest joy came from spending time with her family.

Mrs. Jansen is survived by her; three sons, Ronald Jansen and wife Vicky, David Jansen and wife Sue, and Mike Jansen; her grandchildren, Chad Jansen and friend Mary Christian, Jamie Wesselmann and husband Brian, Doug Jansen, Camie Kampwerth and husband Derek, Brittany Fuhler and husband Jason, and Tabitha Kalmer and husband Joel; a step-granddaughter, Tara Jansen; her great grandchildren, Kayla Wesslemann and friend Austin Iffert, Abby Wesselmann and fiancé Matt Anderson, Ella Wesselmann, Paityn Jansen and fiancé Dalton Clouse, Alex Jansen and friend Shaye Sawicki, Karter, Kooper, and Kate Kampwerth, Mia, Jax, and Kaleena Fuhler, and Harper and Wyatt Kalmer; a step-great-grandson, Nathan Jansen; a great great granddaughter, Skylar Anderson; a brother, Robert Langhauser and wife Edna; her in-laws, Jim and Virginia Jansen; a very special niece, Marilyn Diekemper and husband Raymond, Jr.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe Langhauser and Mary Langhauser Roeckenhaus; her stepfather, Alex Roeckenhaus; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Herman and Regina Jansen; a son, Tommy Jansen; a sister, Dorothy “Dot” Brown and husband Maurice “Bud”; and her in-laws, Robert and Elvera Jansen.

A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, October 20, 2025, at St. Teresa Church, Marydale.  Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Carlyle.  Visitation will be held at Zieren Funeral Home in Carlyle on Monday morning from 8:00 – 10:30 A.M.  Expressions of sympathy in memory of Mrs. Jansen are suggested to St. Teresa Church or to the Alzheimer’s Association.  Donations will be received through Zieren Funeral Home, 1111 Clinton Street, Carlyle, IL 62231.  Online condolences may be shared at www.ZierenFuneralHome.com.
