Oleta ‘Kaye’ Thompson, age 73 of Salem, passed away on October 6, 2025, at her son’s home in Bridgeton, Missouri, with her family by her side.
She was born November 17, 1951, in Salem, IL, the daughter of the late Terry and Trudy (Bell) Thompson.
She is survived by her special friend, Roger Ninness of Clarksville, Tennessee; son, Craig Boyles, and wife Evangeline; three grandchildren, Kyle, Sade, and Shannon; brothers, Terry E. Thompson and wife Cheri of Oakland, Oregon, and John M. Thompson and wife Mae of Boone, North Carolina. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Rose Marie Reed and brothers Don Thompson and Tom Thompson.
Kaye attended Salem High School and received an associate’s degree in Business Management from Kaskaskia College. Also, she owned the Gal’s and Girl’s clothing store in Salem during the 1980s and worked as a crop adjuster for Country Companies Insurance for several years until she retired.
Per Kaye’s wishes, there will be no services held.
