Mary A. Deiters, age 77 of Carlyle, passed away at HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital on Friday, September 19, 2025.
Mary was born in Carlyle on March 15, 1948, a daughter of George and Helen (Kapp) Wuebbles. She married Raymond H. Deiters on December 19, 1970, and he preceded her in death on March 5, 2010.
Mary is survived by her children, Kory Deiters and wife Kim, and Kari Rose and husband Shane, all of Carlyle; her grandchildren, Hailee Gill (Isaac), Alyssa Holthaus (Collin), Shayna Martin (Hunter), Emily Deiters, and Hunter Rose (fiancé Hattie Fisher); her great grandchildren, Haiven and Hattie Gill, Kyler Martin, and Nash Holthaus; her siblings, Elaine Sewell, Phyllis Huelsman (Dennis), Denise Hubbard (Rodney), Doni Wuebbles (Ann), Duane Wuebbles (Margie), Ed Wuebbles (Janine), Dan Wuebbles (Cheryl) and Phil Wuebbles; her in-laws, Cook’e Wuebbles, Carolyn DeWeese, John Deiters, Ron and Lucy Deiters, Don and Linda Deiters, and Gene and Juli Deiters; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Helen Wuebbles; her husband, Raymond; a sister, Doris Yates and her husband, Olen; a brother, Gary Wuebbles; and her in-laws, Janice Wuebbles, George Sewell, Mark Rakers, Terry DeWeese, and Marcy Deiters.
She spent several years working at Kmart in Centralia, where she enjoyed helping others and was known for her friendly smile. She had a love for the simple joys in life—tending to her garden, spending precious time with her grandchildren and family, and hunting for bargains at flea markets and garage sales.
A Memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM on Friday, September 26, 2025, at Zieren Funeral Home, 1111 Clinton Street, Carlyle, IL, with Pastor Jason McIntosh, officiating. Visitation will be held at Zieren Funeral Home from 4:00 to 6:00 PM.
