An employee of Max Dye, Inc. who started on a work student program while a junior at Salem Community High School is now celebrating her 50th year on the job.

Earlene Ferrell wasn’t aware of the milestone until surprised when arriving at work Monday to find a party and a special day planned for her.

After high school, Ferrell continued working part-time at Max Dye, Inc while attending Kaskaskia College.  Upon graduation she began working full time and is now the office manager serving as the central hub of communication and coordination.    Company officials say her impact over the years has been nothing short of remarkable.

Ferrell says there have been a lot of changes over the years thanks to technology not only in the cars but also in how she completes the paperwork.   Right now, Ferrell says she has no plans for retirement and thank Max and Mike Dye for being so generous to her over the years as she raised her children.
