Centralia Police say they located a woman lying in a yard near the Norfolk Southern railroad tracks after her car had gotten stuck on the tracks early Sunday morning.

Initial information indicates that police had received a call about the car being stuck on the tracks near the intersection of 13th and Wabash after the car had driven around road-closed barricades and off the edge of a road that was under repair.  A tow was called to remove the vehicle.  At that time, police noticed a woman lying in a yard east of the tracks.

Reports indicate the woman, whose name has not been released, appeared to be very intoxicated.   She was transported by emergency services to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment.

The Norfolk Southern Railroad held traffic until the vehicle could be removed.

The incident was first reported to police at 12:36 Sunday morning.
