Both occupants of a car stopped by State Police were formally charged with felony drug offenses in Marion County Court on Thursday.
The driver, 41-year-old Bruce Nauert of East Baseline Road in Walnut Hill, was released on $10,000 personal recognizance bond after being charged with possession of under five grams of methamphetamine.
Passenger 42-year-old Allen Phillips of North Elm in Centralia, was charged with possession of under five grams of meth and resisting or obstructing a police officer for allegedly trying to avoid being handcuffed. He remains n custody in lieu of $10,000 bond.
Public defenders were appointed to represent both men.
