A 43-year-old Salem man has pleaded guilty to a possession of methamphetamine charge as part of a plea agreement that saw unlawful possession of weapon and criminal damage to property charges dropped.

Jerry Vanhoutin of Markland Street will be sentenced on June 10th on the meth possession charge after a presentence investigation is completed. He had been arrested on the drug charge in December of last year.

Vanhoutin was arrested again in February on the weapons and criminal damage to property charges after allegedly breaking out a car window with an expandable baton while riding a bicycle past a vehicle in Salem.
