Tuesday’s election featured contested elections in several townships in Marion County.
In Centralia Township, Debbie Young maintained the township supervisor position with a 1,155 vote to 908 vote victory over Tim McCance. Bob Feig won the township assessor position over Tammy Guidish, 1,095 to 927. The four elected township trustees were Adam Smith with 1,128 votes, William ‘Bill’ Nitz with 1,118 votes, Jeff Mashburn with 1,028 votes and Gary Joe Sanders with 913 votes. Those not winning seats were Greg Schwartz with 892 votes, Wayne Houser with 821 votes, and David Iossi with 683 votes.
In Sandoval Township ‘Bucky’ Pulver was elected supervisor over George Dalton, Junior 160 to 93. For Highway Commissioner, Stanley Hayes beat Tony ‘Cob’ Korzenewski 140 to 114.
In Tonti Township, Janet Carter Sullens was elected supervisor over Ed Michael, 191 votes to 62 votes For Township Clerk, Bryan Carter beat Jim Rose 189 to 63. For Road Commissioner, Roger Dwight Petrea beat Richard Meyer 165 to 84. In the trustee race, the winners were all four Republicans. Loyd Maxey had 201 votes, John Minton 182 votes, Blake Chastain 167 votes, and Robert Ring 160 votes. Not winning a seat was Gerald Hunter with 76 votes and Jennifer Rose with 64 votes.
In Carrigan Township, Steven Gambill defeated Daniel Milano for Highway Commissioner 77 to 46.
In Haines Township, there was a race for Road Commissioner. Bill Hays beat Rick Carpenter 98 to 64 votes.
In Kinmundy Township, Chris Blomberg beat Clayton Keen 103 to 60 votes to be elected as Road Commissioner.
In Omega Township, Dennis ‘Butch’ Keen was elected Highway Commissioner over Mark Wilkinson, 96 to 40.
