A trash fire that got away is blamed for starting a fire that burned two to three acres of brush and field late Sunday afternoon in rural Centralia.
Kell Fire Chief Lonnie McDaneld says the fire was on the Jim Hicks property at 3530 Bernard Road. The fire was not near any buildings and no damage was reported.
The fire call came in at 4:45 Saturday afternoon. Firemen were on the scene for about 50 minutes.
