The City of Centralia for the second year has declared the opening day of baseball season as Gary Gaetti Day in Centralia.

To celebrate the proclamation, Gaetti Sports Academy is hosting an Open House and Member Appreciation event from five to eight on Thursday evening. City officials will be joined by Gaetti and
other former Major Leaguers in the celebration.

The Member Appreciation portion of the event will include fun games and prizes, complimentary hot dogs, chips, and sodas for members. If a member brings a non-member friend, they both get free Gaetti Day t-shirts.

The Open House portion of the event, which is open to the public, will include an all-age $10 for 10 Pitches Home Run Derby, from six to eight pm. There will also be one-day-only package specials and a Crawfish Boil Fundraiser for the Centralia Youth Center.

The Crawfish Boil is $20, while supplies last starting at five pm. Gary Gaetti partnered with the developers of Meadow Woods Holdings and Castle Ridge to develop the 18,000 square-foot
sports facility which combines curriculum from Major Leaguers and technology to provide a one-of-a-kind results-driven experience.
