Michael D. Meyer, age 76 of Centralia, passed away on March 19, 2025, in his hometown of Centralia, Illinois.
Michael was born on November 28, 1948, to the late Donald “Sparky” and Joan (Gott) Meyer. He married Tina Chitwood on July 30, 2004, in Carlyle, Illinois and she survives in Centralia.
In addition to his wife, Michael is survived by his two children, Carrie Perry and husband Stephen of Centralia, and Erin Learned and husband Jacob of Suffolk, Virginia; grandchildren, Skylar, Elijah, Aiden, Gage, Gabriel, and Josephine Perry, and Lavena and Adelaine Learned; and sister, Shelly Claar; and a nephew, Chad.
Michael served his country in the United States Army. He had many jobs over the years, the majority of the time working for the railroad and in photography and retired as the manager of Karchmer Pipe and Supply company.
