SSM Health in Illinois hit a milestone Friday when they delivered their 10,000th dose of COVID-19 vaccine. The vaccines are being given in both Mt. Vernon and Centralia.
Sue Tomlin of Mt. Vernon received the vaccine at the SSM Health Medical Group Primary Care office.
Tomlin said she was excited to get the vaccine because she was ready for life to return to normal and she was especially excited to be able to travel again.
SSM is currently administering both the Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines. They are working to make it easy to receive the vaccines. To make an appointment, you can register online at htts://webforms.ssmhealth.com/COVIDVaccine.
They note for now everyone, including those who receive the vaccine, should continue to properly wear a mask, avoid large gatherings, maintain physical distancing and practice proper handwashing.
